Meat Camp is back new and improve my friends..

Hey its Tony and I'm here to say that meat camp will be back this year.. So please stop by and chill with me and my friends and enjoy the great culinary delights that I will be having to offer. Man that sounded so chessy let me tell you!!!

YESSSSSSSS.

Cheesy, but DELICIOUS.

I can't wait.. Not to

I can't wait.. Not to mention that I more than likely will be bringing video games and a sound system.... So please come by.

Bring on the bison!

This sounds like just what I need this year.... I was vegan for about five years, but several months ago, I had to go back to eating meat for health reasons. Now I'm eating the Paleolithic diet. Food is definitely turning out to be the hardest part of preparing for this trip for me.

Basically, I developed a series of digestive problems, food allergies and intolerances, and other health problems, to the point where eating a vegetarian diet really didn't work for me -- but the Paleolithic diet works great. I can't eat dairy products, beans (including soy), and many grains (especially those with gluten) -- but I can eat meat, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds (which as it turns out was evolutionary diet of our Paleolithic ancestors).

This is making it really challenging packing food for the trip. I'm not going to have room for a cooler with a bunch of ice in it this year, so fresh food is out. I also can't eat most of those pre-packaged backpacking meals, because they tend to have ingredients that will cause problems for me. I was planning on getting a dehydrator and making a bunch of buffalo jerky and dehydrated vegetables this year, but I got sick and didn't have time for the production.... So it looks like the best I'm going to be able to do is canned salmon & sardines.

I'm normally pretty picky about the kind of meat I will eat (it has to be organic and free range, preferably lean game meat like buffalo or venison), but I have a feeling that on this trip, just getting sufficient calories is going to be my biggest concern. I am definitely going to every morsel of meat I can get that doesn't come out of a can.

Any chance I can join your kitchen? If you have some means of refrigeration, it would much simplify my food situation. I would be happy to chip in some $ and help out with some marinating and whatnot. (I made some great overnight marinated venison steaks a couple of weeks ago.)

Oh yeah, and if possible, I would like to put in a special request for game meat: Buffalo, venison, wild boar, snake... whatever you can come by.

Plus....

It would be great meet some other meat-eating mutants. I don't think I will ever be able to eat vegetarian again....

Who knows.... next year maybe: Paleolithic camp?

Only if you commit to

Only if you commit to producing organically as-produced-once-upon-a-time cave paintings on the rocks.

;p

I always wondered how can

I always wondered how can you develop food allergies as a grown adult... You should be careful with your eating regime as you can risk your health. I suggest you to do something about it, get some natural supplements or now quercetin allergy for your digestion and allergy problems.

meat camp ? whats next camp bacon?

i dont know what to say to a ex vegan. other than come back. it aint all about you ya know.

camp bacon

camp bacon seem much more applausable than meat camp. atleast people like bacon.

Tony!!!

Oh Tony you fuckin bastard I'm so envious! Next year I'm part of the crew. Do you know how shit this is? I lived in susanville until I was 12 years old, and now that I'm stuck in fucking Australia, Mutant Fest is 18 god damn miles from it. Fuck! My brother lives there, I could have had a house to stay in and free rides to town at any time, and instead I'm in god damn brisbane where even such basic commodities as pot are in short supply. Anyway, man, next year. I hate having to miss this. It makes this whole trip to Australia seem worthless. fuck.

Hope to see all of my good friends there so peace..

meat camp

just make sure the meat is not from Safeway or some other store that supports factory farms, because that's definitely not in the spirit of mutant fest OR the paleolithic diet.

Hey, Meatcamp, no offense,

Hey, Meatcamp, no offense, but can you guys avoid playing Journey or REO Speedwagon or Loverboy or whatever 70's top40 crap that was you played really loud while you were setting up last year? Part of the reason I love AMF is that I can avoid all that commercial stuff and hear good underground music that isn't plastered all over the radio at Safeway. When you're up all night partying till sunrise it's disturbing to hear at 9am. I would prefer having some nice chill out music or death metal or even underground reggae.

No offense meant by this

No offense meant by this either, but that is part of the experience... haha. remember the camp near the entrance that played really loud noises all hours of the early morning? i thought that was annoying, but if they want to do it again, i'm not going to say what i would prefer them to play. :p

YARR

MEAT!
AUTONOMY!
If you can't deal with drunken debauchery at 9am.. DON'T camp next to them this year!
If you want to listen to underground reggae.. Bring some! Play it at my camp.. after the Michael Jackson.

Case in point:
I don't think they will heed your request. I camped behind "Metal" camp last year and didn't really agree with that dude yowling over the P.A for 7 hours at a time.. so I moved and all was well. If you want to sleep sound with no background noise, hike up the trail a bit and pitch a tent where you won't be bothered- but if you ask someone to stop playing their music because its not your taste, I don't know how well you will be received. (AUTONOMY!)

choices

alphamaster and Kristonia

i sympathize with vivimancer

i don't think the noise level is the issue, nor is it a disagreement with personal taste.

it's an issue of hideous pop culture references ironically polluting an otherwise commercial-free atmosphere.

in case you didn't know, one of the points of this festival is to escape the bullshit of pop culture.

but hey, "AUTONOMY!", right? of course you can do what you will. just expect that others will question your motives.

by the way, Meatcamp, one of your crew was shitting near someone's tent all week and not covering it.

check yourself.

yep

gotcha, i was just supporting people's choicesss to play whatever they wanted and i wasn't going to complain, it's all part of the experience i suppose. :)

Meat camp's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes we are back bigger and better people.... And now offering yoga and juggling with music and lots of food ... so find us and chill cause damn it I said so...
lol
